Welcome to the Official OPP Newsletter!

We hope everyone’s doing well! If you’re receiving this email, then you signed up for the Oddity Prodigy Newsletter at the bottom of our site (oddityprodigy.com) sometime since it launched back in 2019. After spending 2025 ramping up our overall output, we’re keeping the momentum going by kicking off 2026 with our brand-new newsletter.

We’re currently planning on doing one primary newsletter email per month, with additional emails here and there as events/announcements crop up, so we absolutely don’t intend to overload anyone’s inbox. We’ll be improving and tweaking things as we go, and please let us know if you have any suggestions on content you’d like to see down the road. 🙂

Since it might have been a while since you first signed up, here’s a quick OPP refresher!

Who We Are

Oddity Prodigy Productions began during a lunch break at a Chili’s restaurant. A few of us worked at the same office at the time and would often get lunch together. One particularly lousy day at work we got to talking about the idea of creative fulfillment, something you don’t generally find doing office work in the IT industry. The idea we arrived at on that dull work day in that dull chain restaurant was forming a group with a few other folks to help mutually support each other as we grew and developed as artists. Bios for all of our members can be found at oddityprodigy.com.

Since the group was first founded, we’ve gone on to release one novel and four anthologies (each centering on a different genre). And speaking of anthologies…

Our Latest Anthology

In November of 2025, we were absolutely thrilled to release our biggest anthology yet: WHERE LEGENDS WALK! Being life-long fans of comic books here at OPP, this collection of prose superhero tales was a real labor of love for editors Jacob Jones-Goldstein and Nicholas Leamy. Featuring golden age throwbacks, heroes of the here-and-now, and even the outer reaches of the cosmos, we really feel there’s something here for all comic fans.

In addition to well over thirty short stories, the book also features a foreword by the legendary J.M. DeMatteis (MOON SHADOW, KRAVEN’S LAST HUNT, JUSTICE LEAGUE and much, much more)! It’s still hard for us to wrap our heads around one of our anthologies opening with a piece by someone whose work has shaped so many of us as young comic readers. We can never thank J.M. enough for his kindness and generosity, and you can also read his foreword on his blog here:

You can visit the subpage of our official site here for links to purchase the book at various online retailers (including our own official OPP shop!) and read the first paragraph of each story:

Our Next Anthology
(Launching Soon on Kickstarter!)

We have a few anthologies planned for 2026, the first of which being TALES OF STEEL AND SORCERY! As the title implies, the genre focus for the next anthology is sword-and-sorcery/fantasy. 🙂 The submission window just closed at the end of 2025, and it’s not hyperbole to say we received more than twice the amount of submissions we’ve received for any of our previous projects. This is going to be by far the most difficult selection process we’ve ever done, but we’re so, so grateful to everyone who took the time to submit a story.

The planned launch date for the Kickstarter campaign is mid-February, but we’ll send a follow-up email as soon as the pre-launch page is live!

Our Previous Releases

We’ll be spotlighting these books individually in future newsletters, but if it’s been a while since you checked out our site, we wanted to bring everyone up to speed on our full catalog. Paperback copies of these titles are available at all major online book retailers, and e-book versions of all of these books are in the works!

SCARY STUFF - our very first release, collecting prose horror stories in the vein of classic horror magazines like TALES FROM THE CRYPT, CREEPY and EERIE.

BENEATH THE YELLOW LIGHTS - a collection of urban fantasy stories. For fans of THE DRESDEN FILES, modern-day magic, faeries, graphitti dragons and giant geese.

BRIGHT MIRROR - a collection of utopian sci-fi stories. Tales of brighter futures amidst darker modern day times, and perfect for fans of STAR TREK.

THE CHANGE - the debut novel from our managing editor Jacob Jones-Goldstein. Set thirty years after a zombie apocalypse, this tale of faith and rock-and-roll tells the tale of how we start to come back.

If you’ve read any of our previous releases and you have a bit of free time, we’d love it if you could leave a quick review on your preferred platform (Amazon, Goodreads, etc). We’re sure you’ve heard this before, but it really does make a difference.

We’re excited to kick off our 2026 con/appearance schedule with a first-time event for OPP:
